Abby Martin beautiful journalist with a beautiful heart and mind with George Galloway, another strong voice for the voiceless. Hats off to you both for working so hard against injustice.

Abby Martin is an American journalist and TV presenter. She produced The Empire Files for the Venezuelan broadcaster teleSUR and before that, presented RT's 'Breaking the Set' programme.

Before hosting her own show, Martin had worked for two years as a correspondent for RT America.

She is also an artist and activist, and helped found the citizen journalism website Media Roots which she operates with her brother Robbie Martin.

The Empire Files

In 2015 Abby Martin launched The Empire Files with journalist and activist Michael Prysner.

The Empire Files is hosted by teleSUR, which is funded by several Latin American governments, but is editorially independent. Martin said:

"The show is totally independent of teleSUR... We merely sell them the content; they have zero control over anything we do".

Martin and Prysner received death threats for their reporting on protests in Venezuela. For The Empire Files, Abby Martin also reported from the Palestinian territories, the West Bank and the Amazon rainforest.

It was shut down by sanctions from the american government in 2018.

"I’m embarrassed to be an American."

On 5 March 2024, Abby Martin was interviewed by George Galloway on the Mother Of All Talk Shows and said: "I’m embarrassed to be an American."

She described Joe Biden as a genocider and a criminal, and the mainstream media as accomplices in Israel's genocide in Gaza.

In May 2021, Abby Martin set out 5 points that evaporate Israel's assertion that the civilians it kills in Gaza were "human shields":

• Israel provides no evidence;

• Israel has a history of lying about human shields;

• Israel considers everyone in Gaza a human shield;

• By Israel's definition the IDF uses human shields too; and,

• This is all a situation of Israel's design.
