Deep Politics Wiki:Point of view
The point of view of this wiki is curiosity.
Wikimedia's design principle "For Curious Humans" is the warrant: remove barriers to knowledge that satisfies curiosity, without substituting a campaign. We add awkward details—Presidio chlamydia counts, Ray Buckey's hung-jury mistrial, a pentagram plate in the McMartin dig inventory, journalists later judged for child-sexual-abuse material who were *called* Pizzagate debunkers—because flattening the file is the opposite of curiosity. We do not add them to prove a cabal, a Storm, or a nationwide daycare satanic cult.
What curiosity is not
- Not QAnon. Q is wholly fake. Treating it as a source is the end of curiosity.
- Not the witch-hunt narrative as a solvent. "Panic" does not delete an STI in preschoolers from different families, or Cheit's two murkier McMartin defendants.
- Not " debunked, therefore nothing." That slogan is how cognitive infiltration (Sunstein and Vermeule) would absurdify the investigation of hidden power: dump a cartoon on the subject so the subject looks insane.
- Not WikiSpooks' maximal overlay, and not a fact-checker's maximal deletion. Both are uncurious.
What it requires
Read the docket. Name the verdict, the mistrial, the charge, and the rumor as different things. Keep Pizzagate's false basement-cabal story off the same shelf as Jeffrey Epstein, the Finders, and Ross Cheit. Keep Glennon's structure without a plot off the same shelf as Q's plot without a structure.
If a detail is in the record and it complicates a tidy story, it belongs on the page. That is the POV.
