Bryan Pagliano is a former U.S. State Department IT staffer who worked for Hillary Clinton and set-up Clinton's private email server.

House investigation

In September 2015 and at least on one other occasion he refused to testify before U.S. lawmakers investigating Hillary Clinton and the 2012 Benghazi attack, invoking his constitutional right against self-incrimination.^[1]^[2] He gave the testimony to the DOJ in December 2015 as part of the ongoing federal investigation into the Clinton email server, his attorneys said he was granted limited "use" and "derivative use" immunity shortly after talking with the feds.^[3]

At the time committee members were considering to offer Pagliano immunity from any potential prosecution in an effort to compel him to testify.^[4]^[5]

He refused again to appear before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in the middle of 2016 after having been subpoenaed to it.^[6]

The committee voted in favor of finding Pagliano in contempt of Congress for refusal to comply with a subpoena,^[7]^[8]^[9]^[10] but not the full House of Representatives.

According to reporting he would not be subject to criminal liability due to immunity granted by the Department of Justice; U.S. marshals were sent to his workplace with the subpoena.^[11]
