Motorola and cellphone radiation

When first reports that cell phone radiation could damage DNA emerged from the laboratory of Henry Lai and N.P. Singh in the 1990's, Motorola wrote a memo to their media advisors to announce their strategy, to war-game the science. Motorola wrote its PR company Burson-Marsteller on on the tactics they used to discredit the researchers, minimize the findings and calm the public.[3][4] {{#subobject: |Has superobject=Burson Cohn & Wolfe |Has objectClass=Quotation |Has author=Motorola,|+sep=, |Has text=“It is critically important that third-party genetic experts, including respected authorities with no specific background in radiofrequency, be identified to speak on the following issues: • Problems with the Lai-Singh and Sarkar studies [on an increase in single-strand DNA breaks in the brain cells of rats after a single two-hour exposure to 2.45 GHz microwaves, at power levels officially considered safe] • The health implications of DNA single-strand breaks.
