CIA
In 1992, Richard Rose, president of RIT, revealed that he had been on sabbatical at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia. Subsequent investigation showed that Rose in 1985 had signed a memorandum with the CIA giving it some influence over academic programming decisions. The CIA's relationship with RIT dated back to the 1960s but accelerated under Rose. It sponsored millions of dollars worth of research related to spycraft techniques, including sophisticated imaging technology and the training of spies.[1][2][3]
