Activities

"Stark had been working with US intelligence agencies for at least 9 years by the time of his most infamous moment, a legendary meeting with the "hippie mafia" drug syndicate called The Brotherhood of Eternal Love. They were looking for a new supplier and Stark kicked off the meeting by showing them a kilogram of liquid LSD (2.2 pounds). He claimed to have a dedicated lab in France".[1]

"Ronald Stark, one of the most enigmatic characters still implicated in the stories of Italian and international terrorism, died in the Antilles last July. The news was given by a private TV station. It is unknown, so far, what the causes of death would be. Stark-a very rich man - according to the investigations carried out on his behalf (he owned two farms in California and a research laboratory in Belgium) - had been arrested in Bologna in 1975. The charge: international drug trafficking. The United States, which had been formally seeking him for years, had not wanted to request his extradition. Indeed, during his imprisonment Stark had maintained continuous and friendly relations with the US consulate and Italian police officials. In prison the man had come into contact, gaining trust, with members of the Red Brigades and with many left wing activists. In 1978, some maps of paramilitary camps in Baalbeck, near Beirut, were found on some arrested for acts of terrorism, accompanied by addresses to turn to in case of need. The author of the handbook was Stark, the first American citizen who had been given an arrest warrant for an armed gang. A few weeks later, however, the mysterious character had been released and disappeared from circulation. Official reason for release: Ronald Stark was a CIA agent."[2]
