SaidIt is an alternative to Reddit that is less corporate in tone and content. It was started on October 11, 2017 by d3rr & magnora7. The site code is open source.[1][2]

Policy

The "Pyramid of Debate" referred to in the policy.

The SaidIt policy refers to the "Pyramid of Debate" and states that "if a person is caught repeatedly dragging discussion in a downward direction on the Pyramid of Debate, they will be removed", but that "If we each take the Pyramid of Debate seriously, we can have a great website for exploring new ideas and having respectful, rational, conversations with other people. You can do your part by voting, commenting, and posting, to help move the culture at SaidIt in a good direction."[3]

Warrant canaries

Since late 2018 the site has been publishing a warrant canary every month.[4] Unfortunately this was abandoned.Template:Citation Needed

DDOS

On June 1, 2019, SaidIt was down for about 7 hours after experiencing a DDoS attack. In 2020 it experienced many DDOS attacks. It gets worse every year. The site used CloudFlare as a protection against DDOS,[When?] but went down in November or December 2025 and was still unavailable as of January 2026.

Popularity

The site had over 3000 registered users as of January 2019.[5] In mid March 2019 it surpassed 4000[6] 4 days later, 5000[7] and 18 days later 6000.[8] By June 2019, it was the 2nd biggest Reddit clone, after Voat.[9] By February 2026, the site was inactive.
