An academic institution to continue where school left off

Universities fulfill a number of social functions. Their stated objective -- similarly to schools -- is "education", but this is just one of many perspectives on their social role. Many nation states have "elite" universities (in the UK, for example, Oxford and Cambridge). These are more or less public knowledge, but the myth is pun that the "success" of these institutions' alumni is due to a better education, rather than because they were recruited by deep state talent scouts.

Deep state relevance

The distribution of alumni in the list of universities is highly skewed. It is interesting how certain universities and Colleges seem to keep appearing in this encyclopaedia. The pattern across nation states seems to be that the more academically reputed institutions tend to be preferred by deep state talent scouts, perhaps because they aim to select students who are highly intellectually capable and well schooled (in the worst sense of the term).

Subject specificity

Certain universities without a particularly impressive academic reputation may also have a lot of alumni listed below if the university offers particular specialties of immediate relevance to deep politics. For example, under the guidance of "terror expert" Paul Wilkinson, the University of St Andrews has turned out a lot of "terror experts".
