Andrew Lownie authored "Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York" in 2025 "the most devastating royal biography ever written"

Andrew Lownie is a British historian, author, journalist and publisher.[1]

In October 2025, Lownie's book "Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York" was published. The book traces the lives of the late Queen’s second son and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, charting Prince Andrew’s record in the Falklands, his business activities and reveals details of how the couple have been able financially to sustain their extravagant lifestyles. It also recounts the full story of the Yorks’ links with Mossad agent Jeffrey Epstein.[2]

In February 2026, Lownie made two outlandish claims:

  1. that a former British prime minister was involved in a threesome with Ghislaine Maxwell and
  2. that "he had been given evidence that Epstein was a Russian source who was running honeytrap operations."[3]

Education

Lownie attended Magdalene College (Cambridge), where he was President of the Union, before taking his master’s and doctorate at Edinburgh University. A Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, he later returned to Cambridge as a visiting fellow at Churchill College.

Activities

Lownie has been a bookseller, publisher, journalist writing for The Times, Telegraph, Wall Street Journal, Spectator, The Guardian and since 1988 has run his own literary agency.

He is President of the Biographers Club, sits on the board of Biographers International Organisation and is a Trustee of the Campaign for Freedom of Information.
