Motto
Mossad's former motto, be-tachbūlōt ta`aseh lekhā milchāmāh (Hebrew: בתחבולות תעשה לך מלחמה) is a quote from the Bible (Proverbs 24:6): "For by wise guidance you can wage your war" (NRSV). Victor Ostrovsky, in his book by the same name, translated this into: "By way of deception, thou shalt do war.".[2] Google translates: "Deceit is essential in warfare".
The motto was later changed to another Proverbs passage: be-'éyn tachbūlōt yippol `ām; ū-teshū`āh be-rov yō'éts (Hebrew: באין תחבולות יפול עם, ותשועה ברוב יועץ, Proverbs 11:14). This is translated by NRSV as: "Where there is no guidance, a nation falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety."

Mossad was heavily involved in Iran-Contra, both with making huge amounts of black money from arms sales to Iran and Iraq, and on the drug side, where Mossad operatives were active in the drug smuggling operations in Central America.[3][4]
False flags
Mossad routinely conducts operations under false flag, including to discredit its enemies.
In the 1950s, it was behind the Lavon Affair.[5] It was also behind the 1950 Iraqi bombing campaign to create an exodus of Iraqi Jews to Israel.[6][7]
The leadership of "terrorist groups" such as Abu Nidal and the group behind Achille Lauro hijacking were controlled by Mossad, committing black propaganda operations. Mossad was involved in the 911 false flag operation, in particular hinted by the Dancing Israelis.
Foreign Policy magazine reported in 2012 that CIA memos from 2007-2008 revealed the Mossad recruited members of Jundallah terror group to fight against Tehran; U.S. was reportedly furious with Israel and moved to limit joint intelligence programs. George Bush Jr was furious after reading Mossad agents were recruiting these people in London. This Mossad operation causeed a scandal among Bush's national security team and it was only resolved when U.S. President Barack Obama pulled funding for a joint U.S.-Israel intelligence programs targeting Iran, according to several officials.[8]
The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) was created by US, British and Israeli intelligence to promote the "War on Terror" narrative and to combat Israel's enemies such as Syria.[9]
Sexual blackmail
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used sexual blackmail as part of the campaign to release Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard. During talks in 1998, Netanyahu told Clinton that they’d overheard him and Monica Lewinsky and had it on tape. "Clinton was told that the Israeli government had thrown the tapes away. But the very mention of them was enough to constitute a form of blackmail," author Daniel Halper wrote, adding that "according to information provided by a CIA source, a stricken Clinton appeared to buckle." Halper claims that Clinton brought the request before CIA director George Tenet. Tenet, however, threatened to resign his position if Pollard was released, and Clinton backpedalled on the idea.[10]
In 1999, UK author Gordon Thomas claimed that Mossad had collected some 30 hours' worth of phone sex conversations between Lewinsky and Clinton and was using them to blackmail the US or to protect a deeply-embedded mole in the White House. A 2000 article by the magazine Insight claimed that Israel had "penetrated four White House telephone lines and was able to relay real-time conversations on those lines from a remote site outside the White House directly to Israel for listening and recording.".[10]

Jeffrey Epstein worked for Israeli intelligence, both with financial transactions and by managing a network of sexual blackmail.
There are indications Mossad had set up a similar operation in France, around nightclub owner Régine Zylberberg.
Mandelson's Mossad handler
On 2 February 2026, David Miller posted on X:
Is no-one able to admit the obvious: that Epstein was Mandelson's Mossad handler?[11]
