Emory Andrew Tate III is an American-British social media personality and former professional kick-boxer, who has on several occasions claimed to have connections with organized crime in Romania.[2]

Family

His father Emory Tate (1958-2015),[3] officially an intelligence worker for the US Air Force, was according to Andrew in the CIA.[4]

2022 Arrest

On April 11, 2022, a man called the U.S. embassy to report that his former girlfriend, an American citizen, was being held captive in the Tate brothers' home in Pipera, Romania. The Romanian police raided Tate's house, and a nearby webcam studio belonging to the Tates, where they discovered four women. Two of them, the American and another Romanian woman, told the police they were being held against their will,[5] sparking an investigation into human trafficking and rape by DIICOT, the Romanian anti-organized crime agency. The two brothers were interrogated and released, but arrested again on December 29th on the suspicion of human trafficking.[6]

The arrest received significant attention on social media.[7] The legal team in Romania wrote in reply to a request by Paul Joseph Watson:[8]

"There are many high ranking, highly credible Romanians who publicly have stated this case and all the evidence is rigged. [...] This isn't a Romanian order, the brothers believe this is a foreign order given to Romania from an outside source to detain them in order to reduce their influence inside the USA and UK."

Exposure

The activities of the Tate brothers were highlighted by reporting of 'Crabcrawler' in 2023 and in an expose in the New Yorker in 2026.[9]
