False flag attacks on ships
1958 saw (at least) two ships sunk by false flag attacks:-
- 28 April - The SS San Flaviano, a British oil tanker which the CIA sunk to get Shell to suspend operations and in Indonesia
- 1 October 1958 - The Atlas, a German cargo ship sunk by French and blamed on the fictional Red Hand terrorist organization.
Federal Aviation Administration
Since it was set up in 1958, the Federal Aviation Administration is suspected to have abused its mandate of investigating aviation incidents in the USA by having fraudulently concluded on several occasions that deliberately created fatal crashes were accidents rather than assassinations.
Cold War
Communism continued to prove a unifying enemy image in Europe. Deep state milieux such as Le Cercle allowed secret high level liaison at which countermeasures were planned against the perceived threat of communism.
