Andriy Volodymyrovych Parubiy was a Ukrainian politician who co-founded the Social-National Party of Ukraine in 1991, and was one of the organizers of the Maidan snipers in 2014.^[1]

Life

A longstanding, outspoken ultranationalist, in 1991 he cofounded the openly Neo-Nazi^[2] Social-Nationalist Party - later rebranded Svoboda - and 1998-2004 ran its paramilitary wing, Patriot of Ukraine.^[3]

Parubiy was a key figure in the US-orchestrated 2004 Orange Revolution^[4]^[5] and the 2014 Maidan coup.^[6]

After the coup, Parubiy was appointed National Security and Defense Council chief^[7], overseeing the launch and execution of Ukraine"'s "Anti-Terrorist Operation", a brutal repression against the country' s Russian-speaking population.^[8]

According to DD Geopolitics: Parubiy at the Maidan when, during the 2014 coup, "unknown snipers" were carrying weapons out of the "Ukraine" hotel located opposite Maidan Nezalezhnosti.^[9]

Death
