The cinema of the United States has had a large effect on the film industry in general since the early 20^th century. The dominant style of American cinema is the classical Hollywood cinema, which developed from 1913 to 1969 and is still typical of most films made there to this day. Accounting / Money laundering?

Hollywood uses accounting methods that make productions loose money on paper, while they actually turn a profit. There are allegations of payments by Hollywood studios to companies that only have a PO box as address, with other signs of invalid data which signals that money might be moved out for other purposes. The Wolf of Wall Street was in part funded with embezzled money from Malaysia's sovereign wealth fund.
