Serbian performance artist who invited John and Tony Podesta to her "spirit cooking".

Marina Abramović is an internationally known artist from Serbia, sometimes called the "grandmother of performance art" and associated with the Rockefeller Modern Institute of Art.

Early life

She had a very difficult childhood and after birth, did not live with her parents for six years. Her Wikipedia article details the circumstances to some extent; she goes into more details in her book: Walk Through Walls: A Memoir.

Spirit Cooking later evolved into a form of dinner party entertainment that Abramovic occasionally lays on for collectors, donors, and friends.

Spirit Cooking

In 1996, she worked with Jacob Samuel to produce a cookbook of "aphrodisiac recipes" called Spirit Cooking. These "recipes" were meant to be "evocative instructions for actions or for thoughts". For example, one of the recipes calls for to "mix fresh breast milk with fresh sperm milk." In 1997, Abramović created a multimedia Spirit Cooking installation. This was originally installed in the Zerynthia Associazione per l'Arte Contemporanea in Rome, Italy and included white gallery walls with "enigmatically violent recipe instructions" painted in pig's blood.

Microsoft

Microsoft hired Abramović for an ad campaign for a new mixed reality headset in 2020. The campaign was ended after "right-wing outcry over alleged satanism".

"Crystal Wall of Crying" at the Babyn Yar

Did an art installation at the Babyn Yar Center in 2021.

"Ambassador for Ukraine"

"Zelensky asks Marina Abramovic to be ambassador for Ukraine" in September 2023, in capacity to help "rebuild educational institutes". Claims emerged she were to be involved with Ukrainian war orphans.

Pizzagate

ISGP named her one of few truly suspicious parts of a story known as "pizzagate" which alleged the Podesta's and others were running a child sex ring. Abramović came to notoriety when it became public knowledge that John Podesta and his brother Tony were being invited one of her “spirit cooking dinners”. Her Twitter handle was @AbramovicM666. During Pizzagate she felt the need to point out: "I'm not satanist!Stop it!". The account was suspended shortly thereafter.
