Distributed Idea Suppression Complex
Eric Weinstein's "Distributed Idea Suppression Complex" (DISC) concept, which describes the emergent phenomenon of widespread, semi-independent idea suppression, was first introduced in Episode 15 of The Portal and described in detail in Episode 18. According to Weinstein, DISC is the complex of structures that resulted in fantastic income inequality and unrest breaking out all over the Americas.[2]

Genocide in Gaza
On 31 August 2025, the International Association of Genocide Scholars declared that Israel’s policies and activities in Gaza meet the legal definition of genocide under the terms of the Genocide Convention.[5] Eric Weinstein responded by arguing that "experts" had been wrong about other issues in the past such as COVID-19, so could be wrong about genocide in Gaza.
