Structural deep events, as defined by Peter Dale Scott, are deep events that are"large enough to affect the whole fabric of society". Deep politicians conceive them to effect deep political goals. Structural deep events often entail a swathe of low- or mid-level deep events either in preparation or afterwards. Both 9-11 and COVID-19, for-example, were followed by innumerable premature deaths.

Cover-ups

Extensive plans for maintaining secrecy are necessary for structural deep events. A common component is the national "investigation" commission to fix an official narrative and take care of pieces of evidence or witnesses who contradict it. Quite often this is held in reserve, as a way of stalling opposition.

Official narrative

Fast adoption of a single official narrative is a widely used strategy to try to foreclose thought, discussion and investigation. Later, an official opposition narratives about a structural deep event is a good way to control the opposition. Multiple narratives (and official opposition narratives) are prepared for later use (for example, Lee Harvey Oswald's various sheepdippings).

9-11 is a clear example of a structural deep event, the purposes of which included launching the "War on Terror" and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. Dozens of drills were used in the cover-up, which also involved premature deaths of witnesses and 9-11 dissidents. Its cover-up cemented the supranational deep state.

In 1979 in Jerusalem, a conference brought a few hundred people together to discuss "international terrorism". Attendees included the head of the US deep state, George H. W. Bush and a host of other deep state operative. At least 4 members of Le Cercle were present, and many members of the group started research projects into "(counter-)terrorism". This laid the groundwork for the "war on terror", a structural deep event used for a variety of purposes, including promotion of fear, Islamophobia and to advance the police state. The project was gradually operationalised in the 1990s and launched by the 9-11 event. "Counter terrorism" became a multi-billion dollar industry and legal exceptions were made for acts of "terrorism" to circumvent standard procedure about investigating them.

Ostensibly a public health crisis brought on by a new and deadly pathogen, COVID-19 was a structural deep event organised by the (post-9/11) supra-national working coalition of deep states, which almost all imposed a suite of (scientifically unjustified) measures such as COVID-19/Lockdowns which were purportedly a response to the threat. The lockdowns were one of many aspects of the "COVID response" which violated both standard operating procedure and established facts. Accordingly, a high degree of censorship surrounded the COVID event. Targets of this censorship were commentators who have suggested that "COVID-19" might not actually exist as a novel virus, or that if it did, it might have originated in a BSL4 laboratory. From 2021 to 2025 the narrative pivoted and by 2025 the "lab leak" hypothesis was promoted by the commercially-controlled media, although the claim that the entire COVID project was an elaborate fraud based on no actual threat (as suggested by commentators including Mike Yeadon and Jay Couey) remained a third rail. Those who put down the corruption around the COVID-19 to simple profiteering (or even plain incompetence) have failed to note the larger picture and globally coordinated pattern of responses.
